Bruins Ink Wideman to Multi-Year Extension

Boston, MA (AP) -- The Boston Bruins have signed defenseman Dennis Wideman to a multiyear contract extension.

Wideman had career bests last season with 13 goals and 23 assists in 81 games. He was the No. 2 scoring defenseman to captain Zdeno Chara and sixth overall on the team.

He had three assists in six playoff games for the Bruins this year.
