Tiger Woods, this weekend, proved once again that he is without equal in the world of sports.
Roger Federer comes close but even the tennis great takes a backseat to the domination Woods has displayed in his sport.
Woods didn't just win the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando, he did it in a fashion we have come to expect; final hole, tied with Bart Bryant atop the leaderboard at 9-under par, facing a 25-foot downhill, breaking putt for a potential tourney-winning birdie putt.
No problem. Plop, plop, plop.....it's in the hole....it's in the hole!
Tiger had not made a putt beyond 18 feet in any round until the outcome was on the line.
Tiger was so excited that when the ball fell, he turned and spiked his hat and then didn't remember doing it. When his caddie, Steve Williams, handed Woods his cap, Tiger said, "How'd you get my hat?"
Talk about focus.
Believe it or not, it was the first time in seven years that Woods nailed a birdie putt on the final hole to win an event. It was also his fifth straight win and it keeps him unbeaten on the links this season.
Tiger now has 64 career wins which equals Ben Hogan for #3 on the all-time win list. Only Jack Nicklaus (73) and Sam Snead (82) have more.
For now.
By the time Tiger decides he has played enough competitive golf, he will be standing on the top rung, without equal.
