Brentwood, NH (AP) -- Sheila LaBarre will wear a stun belt underneath her clothes as she joins jurors on a visit to her Epping, NH, horse farm, where she allegedly killed two boyfriends.
Judge Tina Nadeu explains that if LaBarre tries to escape, accompanying sheriffs can shock her to prevent her from running. Naudea advised the belt does not cause physical harm, just discomfort.
LaBarre says she wants to make sure she’s not shocked arbitrarily and says, “I can guarantee you I have no desire to flee.”
Now that jury selection is complete, trial will open Tuesday.
LaBarre has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to the 2005 murders of Kenneth Countie, formerly of Wilmington, MA, and Michael Deloge. |
