Safe House

Boston -- An author believes the healthy American household is under attack.

Christopher Gavigan is the CEO of the non-profit foundation Healthy Child, Healthy World. He's also author of a new guidebook on practical ways that parents can create a safer home environment for their kids.

Gavigan is encouraging families to look at what's right under their noses...

Diseases such as cancer, asthma and attention deficit disorder are being diagnosed at an alarming rate. Gavigan says the causes are lurking in most American households...

When it comes to a healthy home, less is more...Getting back to basics can make a big difference...

Gavigan is also working with parents to help open their eyes to harmful ingredients on store shelves.

Christopher Gavigan's practical guide is called Healthy Child, Healthy World: Creating a Cleaner, Greener, Safer Home. It's now available online and in bookstores.
