Why: While automobiles are thought to be the largest emitter of greenhouse gas emissions, buildings actually are the leading culprit, accounting for nearly 48 percent of the greenhouse gases related to electricity production nationally. The AIA’s goal is to make all buildings carbon neutral by 2030 and help the U.S. design and construction industry reduce the consumption of fossil fuels in buildings. |
