Boston (AP) -- The state's legislative leaders and Gov. Deval Patrick are hoping that more "green" jobs will help boost the Massachusetts economy.
Patrick was expected to join with House Speaker Sal DiMasi, Senate President Therese Murray and members of the research and business community Monday to unveil legislation aimed at growing the state's clean energy sector.
The green jobs initiative is designed to dedicate $50 million over the next five years to encourage the growth of environmentally businesses, from wind farms to renewable technology.
The announcement was originally set for last week, but was postponed as DiMasi cleared his schedule to address nagging ethics questions with reporters. |
