Boston (AP) -- New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft is pleased with the Boston Herald for apologizing for a story that said his team videotaped a St. Louis Rams walkthrough before the 2002 Super Bowl.
He said Wednesday in an interview with The Associated Press that he doesn't know why former New England video assistant Matt Walsh didn't refute the story soon after it came out in early February as the Patriots were preparing for this year's Super Bowl.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell met with Walsh on Tuesday and said afterward that Walsh had no knowledge of anybody with the Patriots taping St. Louis' final walkthrough leading up to the Super Bowl.
Kraft said he didn't believe the controversy surrounding the investigation would permanently stain the Patriots' reputation. |
