You may have heard the saying, “turn that frown upside down.” The frown is due to the loss of elasticity in the area of the mouth.
Frowning may give the appearance of being sad, unhappy, angry, and old.
Coming to the rescue of the frowners are plastic surgeons who are happy to turn that frown upside down.
One of the more common ways is to inject tissue fillers into the frown area. The material fills the deep grooves, thus removing the frown appearance.
Botox can also be injected. Its affect can last for about six months.
If the grooves around the mouth are too deep, some plastic surgeons do a corner of the mouth lift, raising the downward droop of the mouth.
A complication of this procedure is having too much of a lift resulting in a “joker” mouth appearance, a perpetual smile.
As with any form of cosmetic surgery, turning you frown upside down is a personal decision, but, give it a great deal of thought. |
