Hartford, CT (AP) -- Connecticut Sen. Christopher Dodd says the cable TV news networks have too much influence on the presidential campaign.
Dodd on Monday criticized the Democratic Party for what he described as "ceding the process" of choosing a nominee to cable television news programs eager for a two-candidate contest.
Dodd made his comments at a Hartford economic development group meeting.
Dodd's longshot bid for the Democratic presidential nomination ended after his sixth-place finish in the Iowa caucus in January. He's since endorsed front-runner Barack Obama.
