They are winners in nine of their last 11 games, with a shootout loss against the rangers which also garners a point. In that time, Manny Fernandez is undefeated; Andrew Ference has a broken Tibia blocking a shot. Tim Thomas continues his outstanding goaltending despite being left off the All-Star ballot (Bet he makes it). Michael Ryder scored a goal and everyone is contributing to this current Bruin success. Solid outings whether they are at the Garden or on the road. And so far this year, you can’t tell what color the seat in the Garden are as they have fannies in a lot of them this year. This what Bruins hockey used to be. Cold and windy evenings crossing Causeway Street to get into the building where you know that team is going to compete and may lose, but it wouldn’t lose because of lack of effort. Coach Claude is pushing buttons and they are all the right ones. Cam Neely has been on the radio three times this season talking hockey and that doesn’t happen much unless someone gets traded or fired from the Organization. And one more thing. Your Boston Bruins are in first place, four points ahead of the second place Montréal Canadiens, five in front of the Buffalo Sabres who coincidently are at the Garden tonight. They are second in the Eastern Conference….SECOND!!
Diehard will be making his first road trip of the season this weekend to go up to the Hallowed Halls of the Bell Centre where it is without a doubt the best place to watch a hockey game. Yes, Diehard hates the Canadiens, if you grew a Bruins fan, there is no other way. But to be in Montréal and those rabid dog fans just going crazy on every play or call, you just have to experience it to know what I am referring to. Just great for a hockey fan..not a Canadien fan…a hockey fan. This weekend will be almost as much fun as Hockey Hall of Fame weekend in Toronto. Saturday, the Montreal Canadiens will be honoring the greatest goaltender (for now) ever. Number 33 will hoisted to the rafters of the Bell Centre for Patrick Roy exploits as the Canadien netminder. More on Patrick on Saturday before the game as I get settled into my seat in Montreal. This is gonna be so much fun.
Bruins and Sabres tonight. The Panthers are in town on Friday before the big matchup with the Habs Saturday night on Patrick Roy day. As always, you can hear all Bruins games on WBZ NewsRadio1030 and WBZ1030.com with Dave Goucher and Bob Beers. And any comments you want to make, just click on the comments section at the end of the blog and speak your mind.
Go B’s.-Diehard

The Bruins fans got to serenade the Montreal Canadiens with a couple of their own songs. Olé Olé…and Hey Hey Hey Goodbye were loud and clear as our first place Bruins totally annihilated the Habs with a resounding 6-1 win. Boston’s first in 12 regular season contests. Go B’s!

They and he wanted him…and he got him. Mike Komaserek finally got his chance to square off against Milan Lucic and Lucic pasted him with several rights and a unanimous decision over the Canadiens Defenseman. Â
And while in Commercial, the Patriots go deeper into a hole as after scoring a field goal to make it 10-6, Washington takes the kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown. New York 17, Patriots 6.Â
And Stephane Yelle picks up his second of the night as he blasts a shot from the right face off circle past Price and the B’s have a 6-1 lead midway through the third period.

Totally in control. Milan Lucic put home a lost faceoff by Phil Kessel by a surprised Carey Price who is about to suffer his first career loss to the Bruins.

The New York Jets have taken their second possession down the field and the Pats defense held them to a 22 yard field goal and after the first quarter, New York has a 10-3 lead over the Patriots. And one piece of bad news….Jarod Mayo went to the locker room holding his left arm. Yikes!

While watching the Pats go down 7-0, the Canadiens get on the score board with 6:26 left in the period when Fernandez stopped a shot and could not control the rebound and Saku Koivu came around the net and put in said rebound off Fernandez pad.

Brett Favre throw a 7-yard pass to for a touchdown and the Jets take the opening drive 69 yards down the field and are up on the Pats 7-nothing.

Yes, I am a huge Bruins fan. But I was also a season ticket holder to the Patriots for 20 years so I will be peaking at them as well as the B’s.

Carey Price cost himself and his team when he played the puck behind the goal line and outside the trapezoid area and was assessed a delay of game penalty. Marco Sturm from Patrice Bergeron and Zdeno Chara made him and them pay with his and the Bruins second power play goal at 2:44 of the second as the Bruins are in complete control of this game. 4-0 early in the second.
