Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli has announced the club has promoted Scott Bradley to Director of Player Personnel, Wayne Smith to Director of Amateur Scouting and John Weisbrod to Director of Collegiate Scouting.

As Director of Player Personnel, Bradley will have an expanded role that will see him scout both the professional and amateur levels for all Bruins personnel, including Bruins prospects and current roster players.

Bradley just completed his 15th season with the Bruins organization, his tenth as the club's Director of Amateur Scouting. In that position, he oversaw the efforts of the team's amateur scouting staff in addition to scouting those North American and European players eligible for the annual NHL Entry Draft.

A native of British Columbia, Bradley played part of one season as an American Hockey League goaltender and then coached for five seasons with the Tier II Junior A and Senior AAA League teams in Abbotsford, BC, including an Allan Cup championship squad in 1989-90. He served for three seasons as a scout for the WHL's Seattle Thunderbirds before joining Boston's scouting staff on a full-time basis in 1993-94, concentrating on draft-eligible players in the western region of the United States and Canada.

Smith has spent the past two seasons based in Ontario where he scouted amateur prospects throughout Ontario and Quebec for the Bruins. Last season he held the title of Head Scout for the club. Prior to joining the Bruins, Smith had spent seven
seasons as a regional scout for the Columbus Blue Jackets. In his new role with the Bruins, Smith will closely assist the Bruins Director of Player Personnel Scott Bradley.

Weisbrod, who joined Boston’s staff in the summer of 2006, spent his first two seasons with the Bruins as part of the team’s scouting staff based out of his home in Tampa, Florida. In his new role, he will scout draft-related free agents at colleges throughout the United States and Canada.
Weisbrod, 38-years old, played four years of college hockey at Harvard University from 1987-1991, where he tallied 43 goals and 53 assists as a center. He was drafted by the Minnesota North Stars in the fourth round (73rd overall) in the 1987 NHL
Entry Draft, but was only able to play a partial season in the International Hockey League (IHL) before a shoulder injury forced him into retirement.

Following his playing career, he worked as a scout for the New Jersey Devils and was the Director of Hockey Operations for the Devils American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate in Albany before being named the General Manager of the IHL’s Orlando
Solar Bears in 1997.

Prior to joining the Bruins, Weisbrod spent a season scouting prospects in New England for the Dallas Stars.
