Bruins Add Blake Wheeler to Roster

Boston, MA (AP)  -- The Boston Bruins have signed free agent rookie forward Blake Wheeler.

The team didn't disclose terms of the deal, which was announced Tuesday.

Wheeler was drafted fifth overall by the Phoenix Coyotes in 2004, but didn't sign. He then attended the University of Minnesota, where he's played the last three seasons.

Last season, he led the team in scoring with 15 goals and 20 assists.

The 6-foot-4, 215-pound Wheeler finishes his college career with 42 goals and 54 assists in 127 games.

He'll attend the Bruins Development Camp, which starts July 8.
